Ru has been a USPTA Elite Professional since 2005. He has extensive coaching experience, having worked as a high-performance coach at CARE Academy in Chicago and at the Five Seasons Cincinnati Club. At Five Seasons NKY, he has served as Junior Director, Adult Director, and Tennis Director, giving him the ability to work effectively with players of all ages and skill levels.
A four-year scholarship athlete at Morehead State University, Ru earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees while also serving as the assistant coach for the men’s and women’s tennis teams. Originally from Sri Lanka, he was a nationally ranked junior player and represented his country on the Davis Cup team in 1996–1997.
